Your partnership supports the following Ragin’ Cajun Catholics initiatives: 

 

RETREATS

Students have the opportunity to attend 5 different retreats every year. While students are asked to pay a fee as a sign of their commitment to attend, gifts given by alumni, benefactors, parishioners, and friends help to "fill the gap" to fund the many retreats offered at Our Lady of Wisdom.

FORMATION

Adult Faith Formation (Veritas or OCIA program), Intellectual Formation (Newman Nights & Cardinal Newman Lecture Series), and Family Catechism (monthly sacramental preparation for school aged students and their families) comprise our lifelong learning approach to formation.

LEADERSHIP & EVANGELIZATION

We invite students into a relationship with Jesus by welcoming them into a Church community, building up their skills in knowledge of the faith and critical thinking and moral decision making, and sending them forth to “form lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ” on campus and beyond.

MUSIC MINISTRY

Under the leadership of our Director of Liturgical Music, Duston Stout, M.A., Ragin’ Cajun Catholics students receive mentorship in musical performance that respects the sacred liturgical setting.

VOCATIONS SUPPORT

Students are encouraged to prayerfully discern the Lord’s call to the priesthood, religious life, or marriage through small groups, discernment groups, and intentional time spent in marriage preparation and with various religious orders. 

 

FOCUS APOSTOLATE

 FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, is a national apostolate that invites students to participate in and become leaders of Bible Studies, mentors students in living out the Gospel of Christ, and challenges students to prayerfully discern their vocation. Five FOCUS missionaries serve within our existing Campus Ministry structure at Our Lady of Wisdom.
