A Full Circle Moment

Walking over to the New Wisdom was a full-circle moment. Years ago, I parked in that very lot as a student—discerning, growing, and learning to hear the Lord’s voice. This time, I found myself throwing blessed medals into the soil alongside Fr. Sibley and Fr. Guilbeau. Fr. Sibley was my pastor back then, walking with me as I wrestled with a possible call to the priesthood. To be with him again, now praying over the very ground where our new church will rise, felt deeply fitting—like a quiet nod from the Lord saying, “I’ve been writing this story the whole time.”
There’s something powerful about blessing a foundation. The Church slab at New Wisdom isn’t just poured concrete—it’s a visible sign of what Jesus spoke of in the Gospels:
“Everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
We’re not just building a structure—we’re planting a legacy. And by placing those medals into the ground, we’ve entrusted this place to Christ, asking for His protection and claiming it as holy ground. This slab is more than a base for walls; it’s a foundation of faith, a symbol that this house of God—and the lives built within it—will rest securely on Christ, our rock.
May New Wisdom become not just a church, but a spiritual home for generations, built on the firm foundation of the Lord.
In Christ,
