"I was looking for y'all!" It's a phrase I often hear students say to one another. They look across a sea of faces and delight in each other when they eventually connect. As I reflect on this, I realize that the students are also looking for more - something that is found at the Catholic Student Center, namely, the truth. They want the truth, even if it is tough. They want the truth, perhaps especially if it is tough! In reading George Weigel's biography on Pope St. John Paul II, I learned that JPII had great success with young people because he challenged them to something great. The Church has done that throughout the ages, and continues to do so in a time and place where we are rarely challenged to greatness. Every moment of prayer, outreach, and community this fall semester is ultimately about drawing them closer to the truth of God's Love. So far this semester, we have had too many high points to count, but here are a few - in pictures.
While the ministry is running full steam ahead, right into our upcoming Men’s Retreat and Encounter Retreat, I am also in awe of the pace of our building project. Our new home is taking shape, pointing our eyes upwards to the Heavens and to truth Himself. The steel framing, which began on July 30th, will come to completion on October 6th. We will celebrate with a "Topping Out" ceremony to commemorate this incredible milestone right after the noon Mass.

I invite you at this critical time to pray unceasingly for the successful completion of the project and to ask God how He might be calling you to support it.
